This game gave me the BIGGEST JUMPSCARE OF MY LIFE & I'm not even exaggerating! This was such a cool game to learn about one of the works of Lovecraft while also being immersed in the setting it took place. The pace of this game was great & I hope that you make more "horror novel" games like this!

Thank you for the beautiful feedback! I'm glad you liked it!

Great Game, love the cat monster at the end!

(+1)

Thank you for playing! I'm glad you appreciated the ending!

This was a very interesting game haunting and tragic yet very well done.  Especially the cats just wish I could have been able to have interaction with these kitties.  I got scared a couple of times yet it was a good story game!  Hope to see more from your creative mind.

Thank you so much for playing the game! I agree with you about the cat interaction, it would have been nice to include it, but due to time constraints I wouldn't have been able to put it in this prototype anyway. I'm also glad you enjoyed the story.

Awesome game! Did this as part of my game review series also:

I loved the vibes and the story of The Cats of Ulthar, really cool lovecraft style, I wanted to ask, do you intend to bring this game on other platforms?  Example: Consoles & Mobiles.

(1 edit)

Thanks! For now it is only a prototype for PC, no plans for a full release or any porting to other platforms.

hmm, i understand, thanks for your reply and good luck with your prototype.

bro this game was actually pretty interesting and it had some great jump scares. I was a little lost but im probably just stupid lol

Oh, I love love love video games that tell and/or adapt horror short stories. This was lovely. With the intro and outro I wonder whether this is planned as a series? I could imagine the storyteller having a lot more stories to tell.

Hey this is a fantastic game! Love the ambience and aesthetic to the game! I was just curious, I do music for films and video games and was wondering if you needed someone to do music done for an upcoming project?

amazing game but i recon if u did it in vr it would be even betert

(+1)

This was really good! Anything Lovecraft I'm immediately pulled in! Loved the story, the narration, the spooks, all of it!

(+1)

Loved this game - I did jump scare lmao - enjoy the video & a big 8/10 from me. <3

Thanks for the vote, you are too kind! :D

For all its simplicity, I really enjoyed it. Was a very cute little horror adaptation. Thanks for sharing it with us!

(+1)

Thank you for playing the demo and for sharing the video! :)

A decent, slightly cartoonish little demo adaptation of The Cats of Ulthar, the short story by HP Lovecraft. It has a distinct look and there is some atmosphere to it. I'd be interested to see where the dev goes next with this idea.

I featured your game in a 3 random horror games and your game starts at 09:25. I really liked the story it was cute and with some horror aspects to it. Thank you for making this.

Thank you for playing the demo! :D

In a fight of cats vs goblins, the cats strike back..

It was fun playing this! hoped it would be a little longer, but I enjoyed it! Never did I expect what you did at the end tho XD

(+1)

Yeah, I was also hoping to make it longer, it was not easy to make a quick prototype of this story (there were more characters in the original story that I had to cut in this prototype). Thank you for playing the demo! :D

Super interesting game. Loved the aesthetics. Very moody and eerie. I also love cats. Overall it was fun to play and was very unique. I really enjoyed it. Please check out my video if you get time. If you feel it's worthy also feel free to like it share haha. Thanks. I really enjoyed playing. Last but certainly not least on my video.

Thank you for the video! Of course, as soon as I can I'll take a look at the video, I'm always curious to see the gameplay of other players :)

This game was very unique and I really enjoyed how the storytelling intertwined with the gameplay! The jumpscares were FOR REAL! The only critique I have it that the jumpscares were really loud, but other than that the game was great! Keep up the great work my man!

Thanks for the comment! I'm sorry if the jumpscare sound was too loud, I'll pay more attention to the volume next time :)

Great, thanks for sharing the video, if I find some time this week I'll give it a look!

(+1)

Hello, I played this game and I really enjoyed it, looking forward to the full game, great job :)

Thanks for the video! :)

Nice banner and polyshaped kittens, I adore the screenshots (e.g. animated with better graphics for cats) & cool nightsky, tree-leaves, reflection of the moon and lights outside. Would be cool to get a preview playable a webversion too?

Quite complicated for the web version, I had thought about it but not having a lot of time I didn't make it in time :|

(+1)

Amazing game. Can't wait for the full version. Congratulations.

Thank you for playing the demo! :D

(+1)

The game's fairly nice and it also helps that you can actually go through the game and listen to the story as well. Not bad. I would like to see more H.P. Lovecraft story made into games.

Here's my channel for other games I have played. http://www.youtube.com/c/Levont

(+1)

Thanks Levont for the video! I was very pleased with the feedbacks at the end of the video :)

(+1)

God that jump scare got me good, expected it, but not to move that fast!

The graphics and art-style was great, and the audio fitting!

I like the theme but find the final monster somewhat more laughable than scary. :)

The game plays well, but knowing that you can move the screen to read the cutscene text would be great!

But all in all, great demo, looking forward to the full release!

-BH

Thank you! I am glad you appreciated it, I agree with you about the cutscene text.

(+1)

it was okay, in the beginning you should angle the camera so you can read the text and not just the right of the text lol

i read it as "in Ulthar, yond the river Skai, kill a cat." lol

(+1)

You're right, I hadn't thought about it, thank you for the suggestion! And for the gameplay video! :D

(+1)

Very basic overall, as far as visuals and audio goes, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. It's a good retelling of the story and a good way to experience it. I quite liked the ending.
